Rhule’s work rate and connection skills impress AD Husker

We’re not counting the score yet, but when it comes to Trev Alberts, Matt Rhule has found the right grades in his first two months on the job.

Nebraska’s athletic director and Husker’s head football coach spent time in Omaha on Monday as they met with donors.

“His ability to communicate and connect with people is truly remarkable,” Alberts said during his monthly appearance on the Huskers Radio Network. “Obviously he’s a football manager and he has to win. But you start by building relationships…

“It’s not just relationships with administration, it’s not relationship with donors. It’s relationship with high school coaches, it’s relationship with future student-athletes and their parents. I’m just grateful to Coach Rhule for his hard work.”

During the hiring process, Alberts noted one thing he told Rhule was that this Husker job is a job you really have to work on for him to be successful.

“Let me tell you something, he far exceeded my expectations in terms of work rate and was great to watch.”

What else from Alberts? Here is an overview of some notable elements.
